The delicate perfumes of acacia, mellow lilac and honeysuckle notes, and complex rose aromas combine with spicy and silky nutmeg notes. Then come the gradual chocolate, toffee and vanilla notes which, if from the oak, evoke the finest pods from the Indian Ocean. To conclude, those mild “cigar box” tobacco notes and, as a final grace, a lingering “rancio” from Charente, a concentration of this symphony of flavour and aroma, which could be described as the soul of the great Cognacs.
